Rebecca & Jose’s Fort Hamilton Community Club Wedding
Congratulations to Rebecca and Jose! Their Fort Hamilton Community Club wedding in Brooklyn had a cake cutting that beats any I have ever photographed. I am pleased to share all the details — and action — with you in today’s post. Enjoy the photos!
The day began with Rebecca getting ready in the Brooklyn home of her parent. Surrounded by family, she got dressed to the nines. Her beautiful dress was topped off by a stunning pair of white satin heels and veil. Jose and his boys were equally well attired in a traditional tuxedo. And while there were a few sprinkles in the morning, the skies cleared and made way for a beautiful ceremony.
Rebecca and Jose did not see each other until the bride walked down the aisle of their family church. Friends and family watched as Rebecca and Jose exchanged vows. At the end, they were surrounded by bubbles trying to make their way to the limo.
Jose serves in the US military, so he has access to the Fort Hamilton Community Club. In case you have never visited, the venue has plenty of space to all of your dance floor action. In addition, the brick stairwell in the historical building is the perfect site for portraits of the bride and groom.
The reception proved to be a very entertaining evening. It started with the traditional arch, where the bride and groom go under the outstretched arms of the bridal party. There was, of course, a chicken dance. But the pièce de résistance? Oh, that would definitely be the cake cutting ceremony.
Don’t worry: it was all smiles afterwards. But let’s just say that the groom was a little bit enthusiastic about feeding his wife a slice of cake. I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story. Kids, don’t try this at home.
