Yoel Turns 13: A Bar Mitzvah Photojournalist Tells All
I recently had the pleasure of being the bar mitzvah photojournalist for Yoel’s 13th birthday celebration at the Greenhouse Nightclub. The afternoon had tons of activities — from a magician to a great sushi buffet — that entertained guests of all ages. Let’s get all the details in today’s blog post!
As Yoel’s celebration proves, the key to a successful bar mitzvah is to have lots and lots of activities for kids and adults alike. As everyone knows, 13-year olds at an age where physical activities — games, basketball, dancing — are popular and a perfect way to put their high energy to good use. For this event, the DJs had plenty of activities for the kids which was a great way to tire them out and keep everyone’s attention. The favors given out to guests were graffiti-inspired photos that guests could personalize at the photo booth.
If you have a similar event planned, my advice is to have activity stations located throughout the event space. This way guests have to go from point A to point B, thus fostering networking opportunities all during the event. Furthermore, consider activities from three different viewpoints: those just for kids, those just for adults, and activities that can bring parents and kids together. That way everyone has a great time. Enjoy the photos!
