Jingle & Huang’s Alger House Wedding
Congratulations to Jingle and Huang whose lovely Alger House wedding I had the pleasure of photographing this week. In case you’re not familiar with the Alger House, it is a two-story townhouse nestled on Downing Street in the West Village. While unassuming from the outside, inside it is filled with exquisite Victorian details. Let’s check out all the details of this multicultural wedding featuring not one, not two, but THREE wedding dresses!
Jingle hails from Hong Kong, while her beloved Huang is from India. So of they combined both cultures at their wedding. For the ceremony, Jingle chose a traditional Western wedding dress. To mix it up for the cocktail hour, she changed into a traditional qipao dress. This dress reflected her own Chinese heritage, and she bought the dress in Hong Kong. For her final encore, Jingle revealed a beautiful sari to match Huang’s gorgeous outfit. Her reception outfit was both a nod to her husband’s culture and a sign of the couple coming together as one in marriage.
If you are going to go multicultural at your wedding, you can’t stop with just your attire. The music for the evening was accordingly also a blend of everything. There were plenty of Bollywood hits that got the crowd going. Enjoy the photos!
