A Central Park and Hudson Hotel Engagement Shoot
New York City is chock full of choices: fun things to do, eat, and visit. Rani and Will, like most New Yorkers, love this town and couldn’t decide on locations for engagement session. Why choose, I asked? Let’s visit them all. And so I bring you images from their Central Park and Hudson Hotel engagement shoot. Two great locations that go great together in one fantastic photo shoot.
Hudson Hotel Engagement Shoot
Rani and Will are a delightful couple who have shared many good cocktails at the Hudson Hotel. As such, they wanted to include the hotel in their engagement shoot. Shooting in any private location is normally a problem. The venue will either charge a photography permit fee, or not allow any photography at all so as not to disturb other paying guests. In this case, we decided to play it sly and get in a few shots while no other patrons were in the bar. [Many thanks to the bartender who turned a blind eye to us!] Be prepared that you are going to face these restrictions if you have any such locations in mind for your engagement shoot. We lucked out this time, but normally this is not the case.
Central Park Engagement Shoot
We took a cab and moved on to Central Park, where we ventured from the Bethesda Fountain up to Umpire Hill. As you can tell from the photos, Rani and Will chose a weekday where there weren’t as many tourists in the park. I can’t emphasize enough that for optimum photos at a location that is popular tourists, you need to shoot in the off hours. Even so, still come prepared with plenty of patience. Good photos take time, but they are well worth it.
