Rebecca & Massimo’s Alger House Wedding Ceremony

Bride and groom during first dance at an Alger House wedding ceremony

I had a blast photographing the Alger House wedding ceremony of Rebecca and Massimo yesterday.  Rebecca promised there would be lots of fun Italians present, and she didn’t let me down. Check out all the fun photos in today’s blog post!

Bride and groom sitting on couch at an Alger House wedding ceremonyIn case you have never visited the Alger House, the upstairs bridal suite is a beautiful, airy room with lots of light and plenty of plants.  It is a great space to have a moment to breathe before the chaos of the wedding begins.  We started the day with a few photos of the couple upstairs, before launching into the big event — the Alger House wedding ceremony.

The ceremony was simple yet sincere, and included a hand blessing ritual in the ancient Roman tradition where the couple clasps hands for a blessing.  The rings somehow were misplaced.  No problem!  Several of the 35 guests offered rings of their own to the couple.  It was a very touching, and entertainment moment.

A few things to note about the wedding details: the bride’s belt and the beautiful orb decorations were handmade by the bride’s close friend.  For guest favors, Rebecca and Massimo offered jordan almonds — a.k.a. Italian confetti — as a tip of the hat to Massimo’s Italian roots.
