Emily & Mike’s Round Hill House Wedding
Happy summer to you all! I’m sure most of you are planning a road trip up north to get away from the city heat. As such, I thought I might share with you photos from Emily and Mike’s Round Hill House wedding up in Washingtonville, New York. This was a super fun, handmade affair where the bride created her own bouquet and centerpieces. Let’s get to the photos, shall we?
Emily is a spunky, DIY-lovin’ chick who took it upon herself to assemble all of her own flowers, as well as her centerpieces and table place cards. She had a vintage theme that pulled together the entire event, from the ceremony to the reception. Case in point, the centerpieces were created using stacks of antique books held together with ribbon. Small bouquets of flowers were then placed around the books. These centerpieces fill out the table with a vintage touch, but are low enough so that guests can easily chat with one another. [And from a photography point of view, low centerpieces are ideal because I can get a shot of guests from afar without having the flowers block my lens.] The vintage theme was continued throughout the reception with a table that held fondly-remembered family wedding photos.
Emily and Mike were blessed with beautiful weather for their big day. The ceremony was held outside with cocktails on the front veranda. To keep guests cool and comfortable, the wedding program was printed on fans which were handed to each guests. The evening ended with a treat for guests: a gelato station where guests could pick their favorite flavors and toppings.
And just who are Emily and Mike? The couple met in college through mutual friends and bonded over a delicious 2:00 a.m. serving of white pizza smothered in bacon and fried cheese. Thankfully the proposal took place on a much healthier note while hiking at Olivia’s Overlook in the Berkshires. Emily was totally caught off guard on the trail, and they have been together ever since.
Enjoy the pics!
