Barbara & Greg’s Brooklyn Bridge Park Engagement
When I met with Barbara and Greg for their Brooklyn Bridge Park engagement session, Greg let me know that he was really nervous in front of the camera. Well, let me tell you — twenty minutes in, and Greg was a complete pro who gave his best ‘GQ’ performance. Barbara was a pro as well, as you can see from this saucy shoot. Enjoy the photos!
We started Barbara and Greg’s Brooklyn Bridge Park engagement session near Pier 2 with a view overlooking the abandoned docks. This area has a great view of the Statue of Liberty in the distance, and is never all that crowded. We worked our way through the park and past St. Ann’s Warehouse until we hit the Washington Street with its iconic view of the Manhattan Bridge. Along the way, we also included a trip through the DUMBO area, including the archway under the Manhattan Bridge.
Brooklyn Bridge Park has become an incredibly popular location photos, rivaling even Central Park. My recommendation to anyone wanting to schedule a similar shoot is that you go on a weekday in the morning. Make sure you take advantage of the areas of the park which are much less crowded, including the area near Pier 2 and the forest area above the Granite Prospect. The brick arches in St. Ann’s Warehouse are undeniably one of the most popular spots in the park, but that’s because it is a great location for group photos. You may have to wait your turn, so get there early. Finally, don’t forget about Jane’s Carousel, which is open Thursday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. And even if it is closed, the reflections you can get in the carousel’s glass walls are stunning.
