Centre Club Wedding Photos
If you’re looking for a chic, intimate wedding venue in the heart of downtown San Antonio—without booking a sprawling hotel—let me introduce you to the Centre Club. Atop the Weston Centre on the 30th floor, this private club offers panoramic skyline views, stylish interiors, and a location just steps from the River Walk. In today’s blog post, I’ll be sharing Xylia and Jonathan’s Centre Club wedding photos to show how this venue delivers style, charm, and a spectacular view—perfect for couples planning a smaller celebration with big impact.
Meet the Couple: Xylia and Jonathan
Some love stories start in coffee shops, others on dating apps—but for Xylia and Jonathan, it all began at the office. These two met while working at an IT company here in San Antonio. Xylia had recently relocated from Arizona, while Jonathan had moved to the city from North Carolina. What started as a casual work friendship, naturally grew into something more as they got to know each other outside of the office. Over time, their connection deepened and turned into the relationship they have today.
The Proposal
When the time came to propose, Jonathan planned something heartfelt and memorable. The couple took a trip to Arizona to spend Christmas with Xylia’s family. Amidst the holiday cheer and family time, Jonathan suggested a hike to a mountaintop.
Most people expect a good view, or, maybe a little sweat and a granola bar when hiking—but not a proposal. So, when Jonathan got down on one knee, surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountain, Xylia was completely surprised. She said yes (of course), and the planning began.
About the Centre Club
Perched on the penthouse of the 30th floor of the Weston Centre, the Centre Club offers a sophisticated and intimate setting for weddings and private events in downtown San Antonio. Located adjacent to the River Walk, this private club provides panoramic views of the city skyline, making it an ideal venue for couples seeking a chic alternative to traditional hotel ballrooms.
The Centre Club was originally established in 1973 as the Plaza Club, and it quickly became a central hub for San Antonio’s business and civic leaders. In recent years, the club has undergone a revitalization and been rebranded as the Centre Club, relocating to its current location in the Weston Centre.
Centre Club Wedding Photos: The Ceremony
The weather on Xylia and Jonathan’s wedding day definitely kept us on our toes. Unfortunately, gale-force winds swept through downtown San Antonio, but thankfully, the rain held off. Despite the wild breeze, the couple stuck with their plan to hold the ceremony outside on the lawn beside the Weston Centre. The space was just the right size for their group of 30, and the urban backdrop made for a stylish and memorable setting.
Instead of the usual violinist, this non-traditional couple had a harpist playing during the ceremony. It was a good thing they chose a musician with such a sturdy instrument as any other musician might have been blown away.
We had three standout moments from the ceremony. First, their flower boy absolutely stole the show—he took his job very seriously (and had a great time doing it). And then there was the ‘ring security guard,’ a.k.a. the ring bearer, who brought a fun, lighthearted touch to the ceremony. Even with the wind, the joy was undeniable.
Lastly, Xylia and Jonathan were keen to end their ceremony with a big bang. They informed me beforehand they wanted to do a final, grand kiss as they were leaving the ceremony. The couple had choreographed their moment perfectly, and with all of the crowd watching, Jonathan deftly dipped Xylia for a romantic kiss in the aisle. This epic ending in the aisle is becoming quite the trend in wedding ceremonies, so don’t hesitate to let your photographer know if you want to take the plunge yourself.
Centre Club Wedding Photos: The Portraits
After the ceremony, we attempted a few family photos outdoors, but the wind quickly became too much. We managed one full group shot outside before relocating to the building’s lobby for the rest of the portraits. Fortunately, the lobby staff was incredibly kind and welcoming—they gave us full access to the space. The modern interior and natural light made for a clean and comfortable backup plan.
When it came time for bride and groom portraits, we took advantage of the outdoor areas surrounding the Centre Club. The nearby waterfall steps and River Walk gave us a variety of gorgeous backgrounds to work with. Just something to keep in mind: these areas are public, so you will likely be sharing the space with other people. If it had rained, we would have been limited to a few conference-style rooms upstairs in the Centre Club since the restaurant is off-limits for photos. This is definitely something couples should consider if they are planning a wedding here.
Centre Club Wedding Photos: The Reception
One of the biggest perks of hosting a reception at the Centre Club is the view. From the 30th floor, you get sweeping views of the San Antonio skyline. The room faces north, so while you won’t see the Tower of the Americas or downtown, the cityscape is still stunning—especially as the sun sets and the lights start to twinkle.
Xylia and Jonathan’s 30-person guest list fit the space perfectly. The room felt cozy and elegant without being crowded. Note that the room could easily be expanded for a larger gathering by opening up the adjacent room. Their reception included all the essential events: a first dance, parent dances, and a private cake cutting. It was a relaxed, intimate evening surrounded by the people who matter most.
Final Thoughts
Xylia and Jonathan’s wedding at the Centre Club was a celebration that truly reflected their love for each other and their close-knit circle of family and friends. Despite the unpredictable weather, the day unfolded perfectly, with a ceremony full of joy and personal touches, like the playful ring security guard and the flower boy who couldn’t wait to toss his petals.
The Centre Club’s modern, elegant atmosphere made for a magnificent backdrop for both the ceremony and the reception. Its prime location offered panoramic views of the San Antonio skyline. And while the outdoor areas provide some gorgeous spots for photos, the indoor spaces—especially the lobby—gave us a comfortable, stylish environment for family and bride-and-groom portraits when the wind became a bit too much.
For couples considering the Centre Club for their own weddings, it’s important to know that the venue is perfect for an intimate celebration. With a smaller guest list, the space feels cozy and personal, but it can also accommodate larger groups with some thoughtful planning. The venue’s private club setting offers exclusivity without the feeling of being too removed from the city—it’s conveniently located near the River Walk and provides a unique, upscale alternative to typical hotel venues.
Xylia and Jonathan’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that, no matter the size of the event, the most important thing is that the day feels true to you. Their celebration at the Centre Club was a perfect reflection of their personalities and their love, making it a day to remember for all who were there.
