Good news for anyone looking to have a photo shoot in the Brooklyn Bridge Park area – construction is almost done! But before I share with you all the details of what is new and improved, let me introduce you to Ashley and Kareem. This beautiful couple’s Brooklyn Bridge Park engagement photos are just a hint of what is to come for their wedding in June of next year. They will be getting married in Cancun, Mexico, so if anyone has any advice for planning an international destination wedding, please pass it along.
In August I had my first karaoke wedding…yes, you read that correctly. Michelle & Dan, in addition to being nuts about each other, are crazy about karaoke. In fact, it’s how they met. As a fitting tribute, they and their guests rocked the karaoke machine all night. The wedding was held at reBar — a cozy and hip venue that perfectly expressed their personalities. Before the wedding we took a few shots at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Enjoy!
Happy Labor Day everyone! While you are all enjoy your holiday weekend, I thought I would share photos from Michelle and Dan’s engagement shoot at Brooklyn Bridge Park. For the shoot, we used the entire park area from the East River Ferry dock over to Pier 2 and then back to the carousel. The weather was lovely and the crowds were out in force, but we were able to secure some private moments by shooting away from the most popular parts of the park. I also shot their wedding, which happened recently at reBar in Brooklyn. I’ll be sharing those photos soon, but in the meantime, enjoy the pics!
I had the pleasure of recently photographing the Brookyn Bridge Park wedding of Aimee and Colin. While not an ideal day, weather-wise, the couple looked lovely and there were smiles all around. A few details to note: Aimee got ready at the Ace Hotel which has some very funky rooms. We then proceeded to the park and took some additional shots around Dock Street by the water. Their reception was at the Larry Lawrence Bar. I can’t say enough about the friendly staff who made everyone there feel welcome. Dinner was a food truck with great barbeque, and inside was dim sum and cupcakes. What more do you need for a party? Enjoy the pics!
Please meet Catherine and West, whose Red Hook and Brooklyn Bridge Park engagement portrait I recently shot. We started right next to the bridge and worked our way to the end of the park by the former piers. The weather turned out to be perfect! I can recommend both locations highly. For couples considering the park as a possible photo shoot location, you do have to secure a permit if you are shooting during the week (though it only costs $26). No permit is necessary if you are shooting on the weekend, and Red Hook doesn’t require a permit at any time.
