For those who don’t know, Terrace on the Park is the former heliport of the 1964 New York World’s Fair. And while I have lived in New York City for 16 years, I have never had the pleasure of stepping inside, much less photographing, a Terrace on the Park wedding. That is, not until Kathryn and Barry gave me the fantastic opportunity to peek inside this historical venue in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. In today’s blog, I reveal the mysteries of a Terrace on the Park wedding.
It was a perfect day on Thursday for a morning wedding in my home base of Kew Gardens, Queens. Surrounded by their dearest loved ones, Dayna and Tarrell took advantage of the beautiful weather to say their vows on the patio of Austin’s Ale House. Find out all the details!…
It’s the new trend that is sweeping the wedding industry: having a friend or family member preside over your ceremony and officially declare you married. How do you get ordained quick? Today’s blog will tell you all you need to know about how to become a wedding officiant in NYC.
It’s been a very busy June, so I’ve been away from the computer, but I am back and happy to present the wedding of Courtney and Warren. They were married on May 19th at the lovely church of St. Joseph’s in Astoria. Their reception was held at Penthouse 808, atop the Ravel Hotel in Long Island City. The view from Penthouse 808 is spectacular, and I can’t recommend this location highly enough as a venue — great food, and great service from their staff as well.
Courtney put together the entire wedding herself, and she did a fantastic job! Two unique aspects to her wedding were her precious cake toppers (which included a banner with their last name) and a photo booth. The photo booth (provided by Classic Photo Booth) was a great source of fun entertainment for guests, and gave Courtney and Warren a unique scrapbook memento.
And speaking of photos, Courtney and Warren both wanted to incorporate a bit of old school New York into their big day. To do so, they called up Film Cars and hired an original Checkered Cab to take them from the church to the reception. Peter, our driver, could not have been more accommodating and as a result we got some fantastic photos of Courtney and Warren with the car. Enjoy the pics!
