With the end of summer drawing near, I thought it might be a good time to offer a few beach engagement tips drawn from Angii and Paul’s recent Long Beach engagement session. While this couple scheduled their engagement session AFTER they walked down the aisle (and I’ll have photos from their Montauk Lighthouse wedding soon!), the lessons learned from their photo session will help you plan the perfect seaside photo shoot, no matter when you book your session.
I am not a big fan of posed engagement photos because posing stifles the natural energy level of the couple. So what do you do about engagement shoots that are inherently posed photo sessions? Turn your engagement session into a story told through the camera, of course! In today’s blog I will give you a list of creative engagement photo shoot ideas and introduce you to Ariel and Jeremiah, who turned their engagement session into a documentary about how they love to cook.
You’re engaged, now what???
Did you know that the most popular time of the year to get engaged is from Thanksgiving through Valentine’s Day? Yes, folks, we are at the height of engagement season. As such, I thought I might pass along a little advice on what to do first after you have said ‘Yes.’
I had the pleasure of photographing a classic New York moment on Sunday: my first proposal at the top of the Empire State Building.
I can’t believe the day is finally here — my lovely clients Julia and Jason are getting married tomorrow at the American Yacht Club. It seems like just yesterday we were meeting for the first time in a coffee shop on the upper west side. Time has flown by! In celebration of tomorrow’s wedding, I wanted to share with you photos from their engagement shoot in Central Park. The park is near and dear to both of their hearts: it’s where Jason proposed to Julia not too long ago. Enjoy the pics, and I’ll be posting photos from their wedding on Sunday. Congrats, #JuliaAndJason!
Congratulations to my clients McKenzie and David who will be getting married next weekend! With the countdown to the Big Day upon us, I thought I might share with you photos from their lovely engagement party at the Lotos Club. The evening was a great prelude to their beautiful wedding, and the beautiful decorations at the club put everyone in a festive holiday spirit. Enjoy the pics! #McRomanWedding
It was a pleasure to photograph the recent South Street Seaport engagement shoot of Annabelle and Nate. While normally thought of as a tourist destination, the spot proved to be the perfect shoot location with the recently built pavilion overlooking the East River. We then took a walk over to Stone Street for a few shots, and finally headed to Battery Park near the World Trade Center. The weather was great, and the shoot ended with cocktails on their roof deck. A splendid way to end any photo shoot!
