The wedding of Annabelle and Nate was one of the most fun events to photograph this season. This couple’s heritage is Albanian and Armenian, and that translates into fantastic dancing! They even had a belly dancer and plenty of singing, including a beautiful ballad from the groom as he surprised his bride by serenading her on the dance floor. The ceremony was held at the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, right by the Staten Island Ferry terminal downtown. It’s a lovely, small chapel with gorgeous light streaming in.
The reception was held at the always impeccably staffed Harvard Club. This wedding marks my first event with an actual belly dancer! As a nod to both family traditions, Annabelle and Nate pulled out all the stops with the entertainment. The crowd was definitely in to it, and just about everyone hit the dance floor. In addition to belly dancing, the performer also did a fantastic sword dance. At the end of the evening, Nate surprised Annabelle by serenading her on the dance floor. Enjoy the pics, and make sure to check out the groom dancing with a full glass of wine on top of his head!
