Congrats to Brian and Niki, who traveled all the way from the UK to get married in Central Park on June 6th! Their intimate wedding was a lovely testament to their beautiful relationship. The ceremony, conducted by Rev. Annie Lawrence, was held on Umpire Hill overlooking the amusement park area. Max, Brian and Niki’s son, was thrilled with the balloons and carousel which the whole family enjoyed immediately after the brief ‘I do’s.’ After the wedding, we stopped by Times Square for a few portraits of the bride and groom. Enjoy their lovely Central Park wedding photos!

Congratulations to James and Henry who came all the way from the UK for a Cranford Rose Garden wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens! The weather was beautiful, and the ceremony was so heartfelt that everyone there had tears in their eyes (myself included).
The day started out with a few shots at the Chatwal Hotel in midtown. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel: the interior is stunning and looks like something straight out of a ‘Mad Men’ set. This boutique hotel is a great option if you’re looking for a small, yet sumptuous hotel in the heart of NYC. We then gave another nod to old school NYC with a ride in a Yellow Checker Cab (which unfortunately gave out halfway to the Gardens!).
Enjoy the pics, and check out the traditional morning suits on James & Henry.

Congratulations to Justine and Dave whose Davenport Club wedding happened June 2nd in New Rochelle. In case you are unfamiliar with the New Rochelle area, there are several ‘beach clubs’ located down the shore. These clubs function much like mini-country clubs where members can enjoy the beach, pool, or tennis courts. Perfect for summer in the city and for weddings. These clubs are a great one-stop-shop where you can have the ceremony on the patio, and the reception inside (or outside, depending upon the weather). Often members will retain access to a smaller part of the club with the rest of the space rented out to the wedding party. It’s a great option if you always wanted a private beachside wedding, but didn’t have a summer home.
I just photographed the NYC City Hall wedding Liz and Jim — a great couple who, like most New Yorkers, met and fell in love online. Their reception was held at the Capital Grille, located in the Chrysler Building. This is a very old school place, with waiters who have made a career out of excellent service. The food was outstanding. The most unique part of the reception was Liz’s DIY wine bottle centerpieces, the inspiration of which she found on the Martha Stewart Weddings blog.
From a ski trip to Okemo Mountain in Vermont to several trips to Tampa, Florida, their courtship involved a host of adventures. All of these fun trips then became the labels on the wine bottles, personalized with a description of the place why it meant so much to Liz and Jim. These bottles served as a great way for guests to find their seats versus the old standby of boring table numbers. To add another personal touch, the pair had additional wine bottles on the table that presented guests with a special drink menu of customized cocktails– fancy a ‘Liztini’ or a ‘Jimlet’? The couple’s favorite wine—Root : 1, which they’ve has been present at all momentous occasions throughout their relationship—was the wine of choice for the reception centerpieces. Enjoy the pics!

It’s been a very busy June, so I’ve been away from the computer, but I am back and happy to present the wedding of Courtney and Warren. They were married on May 19th at the lovely church of St. Joseph’s in Astoria. Their reception was held at Penthouse 808, atop the Ravel Hotel in Long Island City. The view from Penthouse 808 is spectacular, and I can’t recommend this location highly enough as a venue — great food, and great service from their staff as well.
Courtney put together the entire wedding herself, and she did a fantastic job! Two unique aspects to her wedding were her precious cake toppers (which included a banner with their last name) and a photo booth. The photo booth (provided by Classic Photo Booth) was a great source of fun entertainment for guests, and gave Courtney and Warren a unique scrapbook memento.
And speaking of photos, Courtney and Warren both wanted to incorporate a bit of old school New York into their big day. To do so, they called up Film Cars and hired an original Checkered Cab to take them from the church to the reception. Peter, our driver, could not have been more accommodating and as a result we got some fantastic photos of Courtney and Warren with the car. Enjoy the pics!
Ceremony venue: St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Astoria
Reception venue: Penthouse 808 at the top of the Ravel Hotel, Long Island City
Photo booth: Classic Photo Booth
Taxi cab: Film Cars

I recently had the great honor of photographing the wedding of Seda and Omer at their Manhattan Marriage Bureau wedding. They are a lovely couple who were joined by Omer’s sister (and wedding witness!), Layla, as they patiently waited for their number to be called. The whole process took approximately one hour on a Friday morning. The lesson here is that if you are going to get marriage at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau on a Friday, then make sure you get there early. Weddings taking place in the afternoon can include a wait of two hours or more.
After the brief ceremony, we took some portraits both in the wedding garden, located just outside of the City Clerk’s office and on the steps of the NYC courthouse. Enjoy the photos!

Congratulations to Lily and Yann on their wedding at City Hall on March 14th! The couple is from France, and came to NYC to get married because it is their favorite city in the world. After a quick ‘I do’ at City Hall, Lily and Yann wanted to enjoy the beautiful sprint weather at Washington Square Park. We had a delightful day taking photos underneath the cherry blossom trees, and Yann even tried to outwit Lily on the chess board.
Congratulations to Nancy and Ralfi on their beautiful wedding in NYC!
