Happy Labor Day, everyone! It’s been a busy two weeks. I am on vacation with my family in North Carolina, but I started out the week in Jupiter, Florida where I shot Rachelle’s bridal shower. Surrounded by food, fun, and family, this shower gives a little glimpse into what Rachelle’s wedding will be like in December.
Today’s sunny weather was perfect for an afternoon of getting together with the girls and celebrating the fact that you are about to become a bride. Such was the case for Jill as she had her bridal shower at Gnocco restaurant in the East Village. Rather than having games or toasts, the day was simply a time for family and friends to meet each other and enjoy the day together.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I wanted to share with you photos from Tara’s bridal shower, which I shot yesterday in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Matthew, Tara’s fiancé, helped to plan the surprise shower by telling her to be ready to go to dinner with her soon-to-be in-laws. Though suspicious, Tara completely fell for it when she showed up at the Greenhouse Cafe, and who should be there but 31 of her closest friends and family members. Sadly, no boys allowed, and Matthew was sent home for the rest of the festivities.
I love getting to photograph my brides before the big day. It gives me a chance to see them away from all of the stress that a wedding day can bring. Yesterday, I was thrilled to have the chance to photograph Francesca’s bridal shower at Acqua Restaurant. Francesca will be getting married in June, so this was a lovely introduction to her family and friends who will be supporting her on her wedding day.
