If you’re familiar with my photography, then you know that I pride myself on being a photojournalist. That is, I am a documentary-style photographer with a realistic, natural approach to capturing people and events. Most of my work heretofore has focused on weddings, but I would like to expand my photographic approach to businesses as well.
I recently partnered with The Dressing Room, a high-end bridal salon located in St. Petersburg, Florida. I worked with the owner, Judy, to shoot a behind the scenes photo essay on a typical day in her shop. The photos include details of the beautiful wedding gowns and accessories she has for sale, as well as action shots of her and her master tailor, Hugh. For businesses, these behind the scenes shots are a wonderful way to illustrate both the goods provided and your customer service in action. Customers have a solid visual of what they can expect when they visit your shop.
I spent approximately four and a half hours at the Dressing Room to capture these images, and as an added benefit to Judy’s customers, I will be sending the photos to the respective brides so that each client can have a memento of her final fitting. The shoot is a win-win for everyone involved: Judy gets great marketing photos to use on her website and in her advertising campaigns, and her clients receive the added value of having a photographer document the final getting ready moments before the wedding.
If you’re either a business looking outside the box for marketing photos, or if you’re in the process of getting married and want to have a special moment captured, please give me a ring! I would love to hear from you.
